The Monuments at the gateway to Green Square are of a man on a horse and a three masted ship.
The graves of Lt. Richard Somers, Lt. Henry Wadsworth, Midshipman Charles Israel and five men from the original USS Intrepid are burried within a few hundred yards of these monuments.
Their graves are unmarked, and unknown to most Libyans.
